The **Feynman Technique** is a learning method developed by Nobel Prize-winning physicist Richard Feynman. It forces deep understanding by requiring you to explain concepts simply.
**4 steps:**
1. **Choose a concept** you want to understand 2. **Explain it as if teaching a child** — use simple words, no jargon. Write it out. 3. **Identify gaps** — where did you get stuck or use jargon? Those are the gaps in your understanding. Go back and study those parts. 4. **Simplify and use analogies** — once you understand it fully, simplify your explanation further. Use stories and analogies.
**Why it works:** The act of explaining reveals what you don't actually understand (vs what you just recognize). If you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it deeply.
Feynman's rule: "If you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough."
